Mentoring & support for young men.
Lived-experience mentoring for young men aged 14-25 across Melbourne’s outer west and north. We support participants to build confidence, independence, and connection through real-world experiences: sport, work, adventure, and the everyday skills that help young men step into adulthood.
Young men 14-25 who need a different kind of support.
We work with young men who haven’t engaged well with traditional services. Many have cycled through multiple support workers, case managers, or clinicians before finding us. Most are smart, capable, and ready for something to change. They just haven’t met a mentor who fits.
Our participants are usually managing one or more co-occurring presentations, and most have had professional supports in place for years. We meet them where they’re at, build trust through consistency, and work alongside them as they develop confidence, independence, and the skills to step into adulthood.
The combination of psychosocial conditions, intellectual disability, and justice involvement is one of the most under-served cohorts in the NDIS. Working well with this combination takes patience, consistency, and a willingness to stay the course across long timelines. It’s the work we specialise in.
Psychosocial conditions
Anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD. Often co-occurring.
Mild-moderate intellectual disability
Often picked up late or missed entirely. We work with the participant we have, not the diagnosis on the page.
Justice involvement
On a Youth Justice Order, on bail, recently released, or at risk of contact.
Substance use
Most commonly alcohol or cannabis. Rarely the primary issue, often part of the picture.
Mentoring built around the participant.
A lot of our work happens through doing, not just talking. Sessions are shaped around each participant’s interests, goals, and comfort level. The mentoring is the constant. The activities flex to the person.
Sport & fitness
Soccer at the local oval. Futsal. Gym sessions. Basketball at the rec centre. Watching the game together. Partnered boxing or PT when a participant wants structured fitness. Movement first, conversation second. That’s how trust gets built.
Outdoor & adventure
Drives, day trips, fishing, sporting events, getting out of the postcode. For many of our participants, this is the first time they’ve left their immediate community in years.
Work & pathways
Career exploration. Identifying the skills and qualifications a participant would need for the work they want. Course research, enrolment support, and follow-through. Resume preparation, introductions to local employers and labour hire, interview support, and ongoing support through the early weeks of a new course or job.
Daily living skills
Centrelink, MyGov, GP appointments, court support, license processes, tenancy. The everyday capacity-building work that helps participants step into independent adulthood.
Three outcomes shape every session.
Connection.
A consistent, trusting relationship with a mentor who shows up week after week. For many of our participants, it’s the most stable adult relationship they’ve had in years. It’s the foundation everything else builds on.
Community.
A place to belong outside the immediate environment: a team, a gym, a workplace, a regular activity. Building positive social networks and a sense of belonging in pro-social spaces.
Purpose.
A clear sense of direction. Goals that belong to the participant, not the system. The capacity, confidence, and self-belief to move toward a future they’ve chosen.
Free first session. No paperwork.
No commitment. Just a yarn.
We’ll meet wherever suits, your place, a cafe, the oval, wherever. No clipboard. No forms. No hard sell. If you want to come back, we go from there. If not, no hard feelings.
Lived experience, not theory.
Hi, I’m [Nyoul]. I came to this work through years of walking alongside someone close to me through the system: custody, mental health, all of it. Sitting in court. Late nights when things got hard. Watching the slow, real process of someone working their way back.
The young men I work with often remind me of that experience. They’re smart. They’re capable. Most are tired of being managed and ready for something real. The work is showing up consistently, week after week, until trust gets built. From there, everything else becomes possible.
I’m not a clinician and I’m not here to fix anyone. What I do is straightforward: I turn up, I don’t disappear, and I help participants build the skills, confidence, and connections to step into the next part of their lives.

Built for the long road.
For participants whose progress takes time, trust, and a mentor who’ll stay the course. We work with overlapping psychosocial and intellectual disability supports, justice-related goals, and family dynamics that need real care. That’s the work we set ourselves up for.
NDIS registered. Outer west and north Melbourne. We respond to referrals within 24 hours and aim to have a first session booked within five days.
