Who we work with

Young men 14–25 in outer west and north Melbourne

We work with young men whose support needs sit across mental health, intellectual disability, and youth justice. Many have had multiple services before ours; we’re built for the ones who need mentoring alongside those services or a step back into them.

01
Psychosocial

Anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD. Often co-occurring.

02
Intellectual disability

Mild to moderate. Sometimes diagnosed late.

03
Justice involvement

Youth Justice Orders, bail, recently released, or at risk.

04
Substance use

Where it’s part of the picture, we work with it in the broader context of mentoring.

What we do

Mentoring built around the young man.

Sport & fitness

Physical activity as the entry point

Soccer at the local oval. Futsal. Gym sessions. Basketball at the rec centre. Watching a game together. Partnered boxing or PT for young men who want structured fitness. Regular physical activity is often the most natural setting for the mentoring work to happen.

Work & pathways

Practical steps toward work or study

Career exploration. Identifying the skills and qualifications needed for the work he wants to do. Course research, enrolment support, and follow-through. Resume preparation, introductions to local employers and labour hire, interview support, and ongoing support through the early weeks of a new course or job.

Daily living skills

Everyday independent living

Centrelink, MyGov, GP appointments, court support, licence processes, tenancy. The practical work of stepping into independent adulthood.
What we work towards

Three outcomes underpin our work.

Connection.

A consistent, trusting relationship with a mentor. Steady, week-to-week contact with someone in his corner — the foundation everything else builds on.

Community.

A place to belong outside the immediate environment: a team, a gym, a workplace, a regular activity. Positive social networks and a sense of belonging in pro-social spaces.

Purpose.

A clear sense of direction. Goals he has chosen and can work toward, and the capacity and confidence to move on them.

The offer

Free first session. No paperwork.

Nyuol Bol

Founder & mentor

I came to this work through years of walking alongside someone close to me through the system: custody, court, mental health, and everything that comes with those. Those years shaped how I understand the young men we work with now.

The young men I mentor are often smart and capable, and looking for support that fits how they actually operate. My job is straightforward: turn up consistently, week after week, and help them build the skills, confidence, and connections to step into the next part of their lives.

I’m not a clinician. Where clinical or specialist support is needed, I work alongside the young man’s broader team.
